July has been a particularly busy month here at Realmac HQ - we’ve been eagerly reading up on iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite amidst a lot of things getting ready to ship. So, here’s a quick status update for you!
Screen Recording + Ember = Awesome
First up is today’s big update to Ember for Mac: you can now record your screen at a silky 60 frames per second, and have your videos saved and synced in your library. It’s a free update, available now from the Ember website and the Mac App Store - and best of all, if you’ve previously tried Ember for Mac we’ve reset the demo period so you can try the new features!
Clear at the Apple Store
We were more than a little bit proud to see that Clear is now available to try on iOS devices in Apple Retail stores around the world. The App Store may not offer trials, but you can now stop by your local Apple Store to try Clear (and a host of other great apps) - if you’re not close to an Apple Store, here’s a few photos we snapped at the Regent Street (London) store earlier this week.
RapidWeaver 6 Beta
We’re a matter of days away from starting a small-scale private beta to iron out any obvious problems with RapidWeaver 6. Over the coming weeks we’ll be opening the beta up to more of you, so be sure to follow @RapidWeaver on Twitter for more news!
iOS 8 + OS X Yosemite
We’re already busy working on adding the latest OS X and iOS technologies to Clear and Ember, and we’re looking forward to sharing these new additions later in the summer! Alongside new features, we’re also making sure that all our Mac and iOS apps are fully compatible with the forthcoming OS updates: things are looking good at the moment, and of course we’ll be issuing free updates if anything changes (including for RapidWeaver 5).
That’s nearly everything - but if you’ve not yet signed up for sneak-peeks of our new app Typed you really should. We’ve just revealed the icon to folks who’ve signed up - so don’t miss out on our sneak peeks for what’s shaping up to be a great writing app.
On behalf of all the team, thanks for supporting Realmac so far this year - we’re incredibly excited about what’s still to come, and hope you are too!
